For the last sixth months to a year I have been alternating between NewsFire and NetNewsWire for all RSS needs. RSS is a very powerful way to get the news you want delivered to you in a quick efficient manner. Both programs have their merits for daily use. The biggest issue I had with NetNewsWire was the general look and feel as compared to Newsfire. I really love the simplicity of Newsfire and its beautiful yet simple interface. NetNewsWire is slightly more functional in my opinion but lacks that “flair” that Mac users have become accustomed to.It was with this in mind that I decided to create some alternate toolbar icons/interface elements to replace the shipping resources.

I designed this desktop picture at some point over the last 8 months. Someone requested that I release it so here it is in both 30inch widescreen ready format as well as 1600×1200 for the standard aspect users of the world.
I think it looks pretty nice with Carbonite and is pretty soothing to look at. I tried not to make the lines to overpowering as they tend to distract if they are too bright. I might upload some other colors including a desaturated version for use in a more professional environement.

Carbonite B2
Today I decided to release the next “beta” of my Shapeshifter Theme “Carbonite”. The theme is still far from complete and you will certainly find some issues with assets not matching in places. Especially with scrollbars. Everything is definitely still a work in progress. Feel free to post any bugs you find even if you think they are the result of an unfinished element. The theme continues to progress ever so slowly but I do still work on it when I have a little free time.
New in this version:

- Unified Support
- iTunes 7 Skin
- iChat Bubbles
- Some Progress Bars
- Updated some Scrollbars
- A bunch of other little things like Menu-Selects that you will find have been hopefully improved.
Do keep in mind that this is very “Beta-ish” and thus will confound you with its confoundedness :P
