For the last sixth months to a year I have been alternating between NewsFire and NetNewsWire for all RSS needs. RSS is a very powerful way to get the news you want delivered to you in a quick efficient manner. Both programs have their merits for daily use. The biggest issue I had with NetNewsWire was the general look and feel as compared to Newsfire. I really love the simplicity of Newsfire and its beautiful yet simple interface. NetNewsWire is slightly more functional in my opinion but lacks that “flair” that Mac users have become accustomed to.It was with this in mind that I decided to create some alternate toolbar icons/interface elements to replace the shipping resources.

I originally designed these icons while working on my first guiKit Samui 1.0. Since then a lot has changed and the old icons I released look really bad to me color wise. So I went to work refining the icons and this is what I came up with. You should be able to make about any color from the icons provided. PNG+ICO for windows and Icon+Pixadex for Mac.

For the past few months I have been using Bare Bones Software’s BBEdit to code this website. While I love the application itself I was less than enamored by the application icon. Therefore, I decided to create a set of replacement icons. I designed these icons using the Apple Human Interface Guidelines for icons. The icon is inspired by and designed look good next to other text edit applications like CSS Edit, TextMate and Apple’s own Text Edit. So without futher ado I present to you my BBEdit Replacement Icons.
